Falls Creek Falls

Falls Creek Falls is not appropriately named. The creek roars and the falls of 120 feet is one of the most beautiful I have seen. We took a friend who was visiting to see the falls and it was so inspiring that it brought her to tears. The waterfall comes into view about 2 miles into the hike, and you find a wide, deep pool of crystal-clear water just above the falls.

Ponytail Falls

Columbia River Gorge. There are views of three waterfalls and a couple of views of Oneonta Gorge. After 4/10 of a mile, the trail suddenly turns into the small valley containing Ponytail Falls. In literally a few steps, you leave the modern freeway noise and enter a different world. The trail passes behind Ponytail Falls in a cavernous area eroded beneath a lava flow.

Columbia River Gorge. There are views of three waterfalls and a couple of views of Oneonta Gorge. The trail begins in one of the most scenic trailhead anywhere, at Horsetail Falls. Plan on a bit of time before or after you hike to view and photograph the falls.
